Reading legislation in LexLens

For EU legislation, LexLens offers an in-app reader so you can read the structured text without leaving the app.

Opening the reader

Open an EU legislation item and select Open in reader. The reader shows:

  • The act's title and jurisdiction.
  • An AI Summary, where available.
  • The Explanatory memorandum and Recitals (collapsible), then the articles, each with its number, heading and paragraphs.
  • A contents list to jump between articles.

The full text is fetched on demand from EUR-Lex (the EU's official legal database).

When the reader isn't available

The in-app reader covers EU legislation that has a EUR-Lex reference. For other legislation (for example national gazettes), or when the official text can't be loaded, you'll see a link to View the official source instead of the reader.

An important note

The in-app reader is an AI-assisted convenience view — not the authoritative text. Always rely on the official source on EUR-Lex for anything you act on; a link is provided at the foot of the reader.
