How do I change or reset my password?

Changing your password (while signed in)

If you sign in with an email and password:

  1. Open Account Settings (your avatar / account menu).
  2. Under Change Password, enter your Current password, then your New password and Confirm new password (at least 8 characters).
  3. Select Update Password.

You'll see "Password updated successfully."

Password change is only available for email/password accounts. Google, Apple, SSO and Lexstream Academy accounts don't have a LexLens password — see Which sign-in method does my account use?.

Resetting a forgotten password

  1. On the sign-in screen, select Forgot password?.
  2. Enter your email and select Send reset link.
  3. Open the reset link in your email and choose a new password.

For your security, the confirmation message ("If an account exists with that email, you'll receive a password reset link shortly") appears whether or not there's a matching account — so it never reveals who has an account.

Important: a reset link is only sent for email/password accounts. If you sign in with Google, Apple, SSO or Lexstream Academy, you won't receive a reset email because there's no LexLens password to reset — sign in with that provider instead.

Locked out after too many attempts

After 5 failed sign-in attempts, the account is locked for 15 minutes ("Too many failed attempts. Account locked for 15 minutes."). Wait 15 minutes and try again, or reset your password in the meantime.
