LexLens accounts are created in one of a few ways, and this determines what you can change yourself. If you're not sure which you have, open Account Settings — the Email section tells you when your address is managed elsewhere.
| Sign-in method | How you sign in | Password? | Change email? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email & password | Email + password form, or Sign in with Face ID on iOS | Yes — change it in Account Settings | Yes — in Account Settings |
| Continue with Google | No LexLens password | Managed by Google | |
| Apple (iOS) | Continue with Apple | No LexLens password | Managed by Apple |
| Lexstream Academy | Email + password (same form) | Managed at academy.lexstream.io | Managed at academy.lexstream.io |
| Single sign-on (SSO) | Your company login via lexlens.io/sso | Managed by your organisation | Managed by your organisation |
Why this matters
- Forgot password and Change password only work for email/password accounts. Other methods have no LexLens password.
- Change email is self-serve only for email/password accounts; other methods manage the address at the source.
- If you try to reset a password on, say, a Google account, no email arrives — that's expected. Use Continue with Google instead.
Can I switch methods?
If you need to move from one sign-in method to another (for example, from Google to email/password, or onto your firm's SSO), contact support and we'll help.
